The University of Hertfordshire’s enterprise ideas challenge, Flare, is a highly competitive annual competition that gives student and alumni entrepreneurs the support and training they need to bring their business ideas to life, no matter how far along they are in development. Entrants can test their concepts in a safe and constructive environment, taking home individual cash prizes of up to £3,000 across seven categories. Winners are announced at an energising awards ceremony, where finalists have a chance to connect with other business owners, investors and generous sponsors
For the last four years we have been supported by the Engineers in Business Fellowship, who have funded prizes for our entrepreneurial engineering students and alumni, and offered mentoring to our Flare award winners. This funding enables our enterprise team to engage further with our engineering students, encouraging them to launch and develop their innovative ideas. It’s been a privilege working with the EIBF and we look forward to working with them for many more years to come.
