MSc Entrepreneurship Pitch Day

The MSc Entrepreneurship Pitch Day is a dynamic event where MSc Entrepreneurship students from UCL School of Management present their start-up ideas in a competitive setting, vying for cash prizes aimed at accelerating their business ventures. The competition features three key awards: Best Pitch, Best Idea, and Best Showcase. Winners were selected by a judging panel and audience participation, with cash prizes awarded to help drive the growth of these innovative businesses. The event provides students with a platform to develop essential entrepreneurial skills, including pitching, networking, and fundraising.

Best pitch: Kungul

Project:

Kungul’s skincare safety assessment and recommendation app aims to bridge the information gap and confusion faced by consumers attempting to make health-conscious choices.

The team’s research revealed 60% of skin-applied products are absorbed by the body, and 80% of beauty product ingredients lack safety testing. Kungul’s main product is a user-friendly mobile application that empowers consumers to make informed self-care choices by decoding product labels, providing healthiness scores, and offering insights based on EU health regulations and scientific research.

Project:

Salonkita offers beauty training and education through an all-inclusive beauty ecosystem. With gender education biases leave women often feeling vulnerable, reliant, and unemployed, the beauty industry also faces a shortage of beauty professionals while having a high demand for beauty services.

Salonkita provides digital beauty training for unemployed women to help them become beauty professionals. Connecting them to employers and customers, Salonkita empowers vulnerable women through beauty training and education, offering an all-inclusive beauty ecosystem. They certify professionals, and spotlight talent in a marketplace while fostering gender equality and economic empowerment.

Best showcase: Green Feast

Project:

Green Feast’s sustainable, on-demand urban farming and fresh food delivery service aims to address the critical issue of limited access to fresh, chemical-free leafy greens, especially during the summer.

The team believes traditional farming practices, reliant on excessive pesticides, compromise both health and environmental sustainability. Green Feast offers a sustainable solution through its innovative indoor vertical farming using hydroponics technology. This approach enables the year-round cultivation of fresh, chemical-free exotic vegetables and microgreens, delivered within hours of harvest, thus ensuring optimal freshness and nutrition while significantly reducing environmental impact and water usage.
