Venture

Venture is Scotland’s largest university funding competition for new business ideas. It is a three-stage competition for all University of Dundee students, staff and recent graduates split across different prize fund categories, with a total prize pot of £78,500 (£1,000 contributed from Engineers in Business).

First place: JBSB Studios

Project:

Renewed is a video game about the energy transition to Net Zero where the socio-economic issues and current solutions are simulated in a realistic, captivating environment. JBSB Studios uses the latest in game tech to build a fun exciting world in partnership with the companies developing energy solutions to show a simulated way to achieve Net Zero. Additionally, it is working with companies to provide them with detailed animations of their products as a way to generate income alongside the release of the game.

Second place: LexiMos

Project:

LexiMos is an adaptive language learning platform using advanced AI to offer a personalised learning experiences, tailoring vocabulary and cultural insights to each user’s unique goals and industries.

Inspired by the founder’s experiences as a volunteer English Language teacher with the United Nations in the Indian subcontinent, LexiMos was born out of a need to address the substantial gaps in traditional education methods. Witnessing the lack of adaptability and personalization first-hand motivated him to create a solution that caters to the diverse needs and learning styles of individuals worldwide.
