EIBF is the registered charity that promotes business education for engineers and scientists. Each year, it awards £800,000+ in Sainsbury Management Fellows scholarships to talented and committed individuals to study for an MBA at the world’s leading business schools.
Members of EIBF (who are known as Sainsbury Management Fellows) have each received a Sainsbury Management Scholarship which enabled them to study for an MBA at a leading international business school.
Recognising the benefits of introducing young people to business at an early stage, EIBF also partners with more than 50 UK universities to sponsor enterprise competitions to reward talented engineers and scientists.

More than 130 guests from across the engineering, science and business communities attended the EIBF Annual Dinner in May 2025. This year marks 38 years since the launch of the Sainsbury Management Fellows (SMF) scholarship programme, which has seen more than 424 talented engineers study for MBAs at world-leading business schools.
